Well, who would have thought I’d be writing an article about toilets? Certainly not I. But here I am, actually excited to share some news about the oh so intriguing porcelain throne.
After our Plumbing Contractor (KLM Plumbing, Inc in Orlando) did the research for an American-Made toilet, I spent a great deal of time immersed in terms like Water Sense, Flow Wise, and Right Size, and finally determined we liked the toilet that they recommended.
If you have been following this blog, you know that our job did not stop there though. We always confirm that the products recommended and referred to us are truly American-Made. This was actually an easy research task. American Standard has a special web page promoting the Cadet 3 as a made in America toilet.
ALERT – When calling customer service to confirm the toilet was made in the USA (even though they had a web page), I was given a scare. I gave the representative the model number of the Cadet 3 and she told me that I was wrong, that in fact this toilet was made in Mexico! Panic started to creep in immediately. “What? But your website states it is made in the USA!” She repeated the model number I gave her. It was the same, however I neglected to say the ‘. us’ at the end of the model number. That’s right, you guessed it. They make the exact same model in the USA and in Mexico. So when placing your Cadet 3 order, do not forget the ‘DOT US (.us)’.
Be aware that many American Standard products are not made in the US. So, make sure you do your research before purchasing.
